Go Green for Greenbacks: Tax Tip of the Week

Looking for more ways to lower your taxes? Greening your home means you can get more greenbacks in return at tax time. The stimulus plan approved by Congress in February offers tax credits for making your home more energy efficient. There are several tax credits available for improvements made in 2009 or 2010.  The credit is equal to 30% of the cost of the improvement up to a limit of $1,500.  The credits apply to such things as insulation, energy efficient windows and doors and efficient heating and air conditioning systems.Be sure to save your receipts for all of your "green" projects so we can make “tax time” a little more rewarding....until next week.
